How to send fake location on WhatsApp

Below is the tutorial on how to send fake locations on WhatsApp

Step 1: Enabling Developer Options

If you want to send a fake location on WhatsApp, you have to fool your on-device GPS with an app that overrides location detection and tricks your phone into thinking you’re somewhere else. There are many apps on the Google Play Store that let you do this. However, make sure that you have developer options enabled on your phone before you proceed since this needs permission from there.

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone and scroll till you see About Phone.
  2. Tap on About Phone.
  3. Tap on Software information.
  4. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times.
  5. Now, you’ll get a message that says, “You are now a developer.”
  6. Open the Settings app again and check whether Developer Options is activated.

Step 2: Installing a fake GPS App

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your phone.
  2. Search for LocaEdit Fake GPS Location, and download and install this app. You may sideload it from a reliable site. There are other apps that do the same function, and you can choose to use those, too.
  3. Re-enter developer options from the Settings app.
  4. Find the Location section.
  5. Choose the “Select mock location app” option.
  6. From here, pick the app that you have installed. In the example we’ve used, it’s the LocaEdit app.

Step 3: Sending the fake location on WhatsApp

  1. Open the fake location app that you’ve installed. LocaEdit, in this case.
  2. Pick any location that’s on the map in the real world. You can set your fake location from here.
  3. Now, open the WhatsApp application on your phone.
  4. Pick the contact that you want to send the fake location.
  5. As you would do normally, expand the share menu and choose the option to share your location. Pick the contact that you want to share it with, and share it.
  6. Now, you’ll see the exact fake location that you’ve set in the Fake GPS Location app. Share this location, and the recipient will see this.

After you’re done with this, you can easily turn this off from the app and disable developer options if you want to. If you want to share your real location, just turn off the location from the fake location apps.

There are other apps for sending fake locations, like Fake GPS Location and Fake GPS. You can pick whichever app you want to use.

Note: There is no method to currently recreate this on iOS. Apple doesn’t allow developer options, and there’s no way to spoof the GPS on an iPhone. As a result, you cannot send a fake location on an iPhone.
