How to reset your Google Pixel Buds

The Google Pixel Buds is among the best TWS in the market, but you might want to reset it when you run into issues that break the experience. Instead of shelling out money for a new pair of TWS, it’s worth trying a factory data reset to see if that fixes the problems. The Google Pixel Buds have custom 11mm drivers internally, with Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, active in-ear pressure relief, low-latency gaming mode, custom volume EQ, and more.

However, there are many issues with the Pixel Buds. They either don’t play the audio correctly, have extremely poor battery life, refuse to connect, don’t charge properly, and more. If you have any of these issues, you can try resetting the Pixel Buds to factory settings.

Resetting your Pixel Buds will delete any data you have, so all your settings will be erased. The reset will erase connected devices and your audio and EQ preferences, device names, custom name of the Buds, etc. You’ll start with a fresh pair, and you have to manually set everything up again like it’s new.

How to reconnect your Buds

After completing the factory reset process, you’ll have to connect them back to your phone. To do that, turn on Bluetooth on your phone if it isn’t turned on already. Open the charging case of the Pixel Buds and press and hold the pairing button. You’ll get a notification on your phone which will prompt you to pair the Earbuds.

Tap this notification and connect your Pixel Buds. You can also go to your Connected Devices page in the Settings app if you do not get a prompt. Note that you have to set up everything again, including audio preferences and the name of the Buds. If you want custom EQ tuning, you have to set that up again in the Pixel Buds app.

If this factory reset doesn’t solve your issues, you can try cleaning the Pixel Buds properly. You can also try updating the firmware. Go to your Saved Devices in Bluetooth Settings and tap on More Settings. Tap on Firmware Update and turn on Automatic Updates. Your buds will now be updated to the latest firmware.
