Google’s Wear OS platform for Smartwatches has come a long way. Initially, the software was very much unfinished the hardware wasn’t capable enough to run the hefty Wear OS. There were stutters and lags all around the system UI. However, recently, Google has been working day and night to improve the experience of wear OS smartwatches. After the launch of Fossil Q Gen 5, we can say that Wear OS can now compete with other smartwatches in the market like the Galaxy Watch and the Apple Watch. Not to mention, Google’s new Wear OS H MR2 update which released recently to the fossil group of smartwatches just brings a lot to the table.

The new update is rolling out to the following devices and we can expect more devices to join soon.

  • Diesel Axial
  • Skagen Falster 3
  • Emporio Armani Smartwatch 3

About the Wear OS H MR2 Update

the Suunto 7 is one of the first smartwatch running on wear os to get the H MR2 update. the smartwatch got the update back in September. However, now it is rolling out to fossil watches as well. users have said that they can now disable the press and hold for assistant option. Also, there is a new weather widget tile with a new design. Google’s changelog mentioned improvement in battery and that app would open 20% faster. Currently. users can have up to 5 tiles, but google has mentioned with the update it’s increasing the limit of tiles from 5 to 10 tiles.

Recently, Google also added hand wash timer and updated the google fit app as well. Google occasionally, give updates to Wear OS platform to improve its system stability and adds on some new features as well.
