There are rumours that Samsung might discontinue the Galaxy Note series and will completely replace it with the Z Fold series. While there are some other reports that claims, Samsung didn’t launch the new Galaxy Note series this year because of the global chip shortage issue, and Samsung might launch a new Note series next year. In the august unpacked event of 2021, we will be seeing four new product launches, starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 3, followed by Z Flip 3 and then the Galaxy wearables like the Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Watch 4.
Things To Expect From Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the August Unpacked Event
The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3, will be the star of the show, this is the third generation of Samsung’s fold series. The Z Fold 2 was already a super hit phone from last year. This year Samsung is also adding the S pen to its fold series. The Fold 3 will also be having a new under panel camera, which means that the front camera will be hidden inside the display and won’t be visible to you while using the phone.
As per the reports, Samsung has also added the IPx8 water-resistant rating to their Z series smartphone. This is the first time any foldable device is getting a water-resistant IP rating. Samsung is swinging its arms to the full, with their Z lineup, they want to continue ruling in the foldable devices, which they already are. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or 888+ coupled with 12 or 16 GB of RAM.
It will be having a 6.2-inch outer display, while the inside display would be a 7.6 inch 120hz adaptive display with QHD resolution. The screens will be protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The under panel camera is a 4 MP camera which is located in the inner display, while the outer display also has a front camera shared from the Galaxy S21 series, the same 10 MP camera.
At the back, it is expected that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be having a camera system similar to S21 and S21 Plus, the same triple rear camera system. the 12 Mp main sensor followed by a 12 MP telephoto camera with OIS. There is a 12 MP Ultrawide camera as well with a 123-degree field of view. The lack of a higher MP camera means the 8K video recording might not come to the Z Fold 3 series unless Samsung figures out to use a 12 MP sensor to record 8K video recording. the galaxy Z Fold 3 will be 5G and will be launched in three different colours, green, white and black. It is also rumoured that Samsung is reducing the prices of their Z Fold series this year, and it will be cheaper than last year’s Z Fold 2.
Things to Expect from Galaxy Z Flip 3
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is also getting upgrades this year. The phone will be having a 4x times bigger outer display when compared to the Z Flip 5G. The phone will be powered by the new Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with 8 GB of RAM. However, the Z Flip 3 will not be having any under panel camera like the Z Fold 3. But it will be having the IPx8 rated water-resistant which proves that this year Samsung has worked hard in making these foldable and flip phones more durable than ever. The outer part of the Z flip 3 is said to have a 1.9 inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz of refresh rate, while inside it is a 6.7 inch 2640 x 1080 AMOLED panel along with the same 120 Hz of refresh rate.
The Z Flip 3 is said to have only two cameras at the rear a 12 MP main sensor followed by a 12 MP ultrawide lens that’s it. Since the phone is very sleek and small, the battery is said to be around 3300 mAh, which is a bit less, considering its power-hungry chipset and the 120 Hz display. This year the phone is also lighter with weighing around 183 grams. However, there are rumours that Samsung might add 25w of fast charging to their Z Flip 3 series, which was missing in the last generation. The phone will be launched in several new colours, and the design is also refreshing. As per the reports, the Z Flip 3 should be priced under 1000$ as we have discussed earlier the Samsung is reducing the prices of their Z lineup this year.
