Things To Know Before Installing Android 12 Developer Preview

Make sure you have backed up all of the data of your device since installing it or rolling back to the stable build will wipe everything from your phone. Also, the phone can be extremely unstable and some features might become unuseful, so make sure you are ready for that. As this is a developer preview and is best suited for developers, it is not at all recommended to flash the Android 12 build on your daily phone. If you don’t have any prior experience about flashing any ROMS proceed with cautions and at your own RISK. As you might brick your device.

Before you proceed any further ensure that your phone has at least 30% of battery, at least 3-5 GB of internal storage space and that you have another backup device in case you fail to flash this build on your Oneplus 9 or 9 Pro. How To Flash Android 12 Developer Preview on OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro

MP and OBT to DP upgrade guide—via Local OTA Update

Note: This upgrade method will erase all the contents of the phone, please be sure to backup first.

  1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
  2. Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
  3. Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
  4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
  5. Update successful.

DP to MP rollback guide – via Local OTA update

Note: This upgrade method will erase all the contents of the phone, please be sure to backup first.

  1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
  2. Copy the Rollback package to the phone storage.
  3. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
  4. Update successful.

If you want to roll back to stable Oxygen OS 11, all you have to do is simply download the correct rollback package file for your OnePlus device and then Install this apk. Then, open the app -> tap the top-right gear icon -> find the downgrade package and tap it -> wait to finish the installation -> tap reboot
